BRANTNER DeATLEY IN COLOR: Recent Paintings and Etchings
June 21-July 26, 2008
Opening Sat., June 21, 3-6
The Gallery at North Adams Antiques is pleased to present recent paintings and etchings by Brantner DeAtley. The artist was born In Niagara Falls N.Y. in1970. He completed his Bachelor of fine arts degree through the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University.
In 2003 Brantner and his wife, artist Shoshana Phillips, moved to Western Massachusetts and opened Red Horse Press, (www.redhorsepress.org) an etching studio where they publish editions and print by contract for printmakers and artists. He also works as an assistant to the artist Tom Friedman.
The artist writes:
“The daily ritual of providing form to the spirit inside is my natural drive.
When the studio is alive the work makes itself; it has a life of it’s own, moving from medium to medium, evolving and unfolding. My artwork has a call and response within its life; the pieces can answer each other’s questions.
My subconscious filters through the world’s continuous noise and questions, transcending our present existence, and creating its own private mythology in the form of my work. I supply no answers, only reflections of our ever-changing world as we repeat each other and ourselves through time.”

The shop will be open Wed.-Sun., 10-3. After Memorial Day, hours will be extended to every day, 10-4.
